Postscript
Sgt Eric Mueller was born on March 14th, 1981 at Buckingham Hospital in Quebec. He grew up in Quebec and when he was 16, his family moved to Casselman Ontario.
When Eric was 18, shortly after his father passed away he attended a career fair. Eric had wanted to become an Engineer, following in his father’s footsteps. However, he returned home with an information pamphlet from the police service and was excited with the thought of becoming a police officer. Even as a young boy his favorite activity was playing with police and military toys. He was always drawn to structure and the respect for authority. It instantly became a strong desire to become a police officer.
Eric joined the OPP Auxiliary Unit in Hawkesbury and provided a countless number of volunteer hours to the community. In July of 2002, he was hired as a Special Constable with the OPP Offender Transport Unit in Ottawa and on January 3, 2006, he fulfilled his goal and was hired as an OPP constable. He was posted to the Prescott detachment where he quickly became highly respected. He had a strong work ethic and obtained numerous qualifications, including Dangerous Goods Inspector and Coach Officer where he supported the development of two recruits. He received a Commissioner’s Citation for Lifesaving. He was recognized for working with others to pull an unconscious driver from a burning vehicle following a collision on Highway 401. He later transferred to the Brockville detachment where he became the Auxiliary liaison and 2nd In Command of his shift.
Sgt Eric Mueller was deeply devoted to his family and leaves behind his beloved wife Marie-France Ethier, his mother Ginette and sister Kathy. He was a proud father of his two children, Jasmine and Hugo. He will be greatly missed by his in-laws, niece and nephew. Many relatives, friends, colleagues and members of the community will fondly remember him as kind and compassionate.
