DETAILS: On December 7, 1992 Constable Wilson was on routine patrol. As Constable Wilson was operating the police cruiser she swerved to avoid a near miss accident. The sudden startle caused Constable Wilson’s heart to experience ventricular fibrillation and she went unconscious. Constable Wilson was transported to Sunnybrook Hospital where she passed away on December 8, 1992 at the age of 23.
Constable Wilson graduated from Port Perry High School in June of 1988 and began her career as a police cadet with Durham Regional Police in July of 1988 where she was assigned to work out of Sunderland (26 Division). In 1990 Constable Wilson attended the Ontario Police College and upon graduation was assigned to work out of Oshawa (17 Division).
Colleagues describe Constable Wilson as a beautiful person with a contagious smile who lit up a room as soon as she entered. Constable Wilson was energetic, kind hearted and loved her job.
Constable Wilson leaves behind her parents, Glen and Carol, and two sisters, Laurie and Karen.
